Genovese

Golden hearted shortbread.

Shortbread, is widely known, the mother of all the most simple and genuine desserts, the ones that perfume the house with fragrance. Since the house is Sicily, the favoured guest is surely sweet ricotta cheese and chocolate drops. The little mound powdered with sugar has a soft white heart: this is an irresistible blend! The dessert was created in Erice; in Palermo we can easily find a different kind of Genovese, filled with crème patissiere, also delicious : a must for a perfect breakfast.
